Thrifty Thursday: How I Style My Favourite 90s Dress for Spring

Has anyone else spent your quarantine dreaming about all the amazing outfits you’ll get to wear once this is all over? Now that we seem to be (hopefully) nearing the end, I wanted to share one of my favourite outfits that I’ll be rocking this Spring. The best part is that it’s styled around my favourite thrifted 90s dress! Here’s to looking stylish and sustainable in 2020!

Julianne stands outside in front of a fence. She is wearing Ray Ban sunglasses on her head, white leather Keds shoes, and a navy 90s midi button up midi-dress with a floral pattern.

The star of outfit number one is this beautiful 90s dress I bought from a secondhand store last Summer. Any busty ladies know the struggle of button-up dresses and shirts. It’s often difficult clothes, especially vintage, that don’t pop open at my chest. But this one fits like a glove! The brand is Northern Tradition (I’m assuming from the mid 90’s) and I’m wearing a size 10.

Julianne stands outside laughing and twirling. She wears Ray Ban sunglasses on her head, white leather Keds sneakers, and a denim jean jacket. Her dress is a navy button-up 90s midi dress with a floral pattern.

I’ve paired it with my favourite jean jacket, complete with an adorable cat pin! The jacket is in a size M from Ricki’s (you can find a similar one here). I love Ricki’s denim jackets because they’re super stretchy and don’t restrict your movement like some of the other jean jackets I’ve owned. Plus this one is a slightly shorter length, which makes it super flattering when paired with a dress like this one!

The pin is from my favourite local Newfoundland store, Posie Row. Pins like this one are the perfect way to add some subtle personality to your look!

I finished this look with my Ray-Ban sunglasses – this style is called Clubmaster Classic and the colour is Polished Tortoise. These are my first pair of higher end sunglasses and I’m absolutely hooked! From the way they feel to the way they fit on my face, I feel like my Ray Bans were worth every penny. Plus, the Clubmaster Classic frames have a retro vibe that perfectly compliments all my favourite vintage pieces.

For my shoes, I opted for stylish yet comfortable Keds. I love how versatile these shoes are – they go well with casual looks but also add an element of comfort to more polished outfits! I’ve had canvas Keds in the past, but I decided to upgrade to the leather version this time. Anyone who’s ever had a pair of white shoes known the struggle of keeping them clean. The leather stays pristine for longer, and is much easier to clean when messes do happen!

Hey there, You’ve performed a great job. I’ll certainly digg it and in my view suggest
to my friends. I am confident they will be benefited from this website.

  3. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across
a blog that’s both equally educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you
have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something not enough people are
speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy I stumbled across this during my search for something regarding this.

  4. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally,
it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.
You obviously know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your
site when you could be giving us something informative to
    read?

  5. Hmm is anyone else having problems with the images on this
blog loading? I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the
blog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  6. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about
this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could
do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is
great blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.
